3/3/09 AI Review by ME! these are just my opinions!!

Here we go. Week 3 and the final 12 perform. It is getting close. We have 6 pretty strong singers in the final 12 so far and 3 more will join them after tonight and then we get to see who the wild card contestants will be. I had high hopes for tonight since the last two weeks have been pretty rough. They sort of delivered but there were still some pretty rough songs in there.

OK SO BRING ON THE FINAL 12.......EAR PLUGS PLEASE!!!!

He's singing, Your all I Need to Get By, by Marvin Gaye
He promised to show a "better me" I don't remember him from before so I don't know if he succeeded at that or not. He sounds kind of out of breath to me. He's wearing red shoes... that shows how interested I am in this song. He also makes ugly faces when he sings. He sings good though. Much better start then previous shows I have to admit but no WOW for me.
Randy said it was the way to kick off the show. Very hot performance.
Kara said he's coming in to his own, very comfortable.
Paula said what I love about you, you know when to pull back and push forward... ummm OK
Simon said it reminds him of Clay Aiken, "you look appalling but you sang very well".

Taylor Vailanaua
She's a young one so you know that means a big AAAAAGGGG from me. but I will give her a chance. She is singing, If I Ain't Got You, by Alicia Keys.
She sounds like she is forgetting the words or mumbling I can't tell. She is really tall....
Kara said she wants more personality, left her a bit cold.
Paula said she had a beautiful gift but didn't really mention how she sang.
Simon said could not remember you. He had no idea who she was. Tonight will be a struggle
Randy said kind of boring.

Alex Wagner-Trugman
Is he wearing overalls? He's talking about how people are saying he is dorky... awww that makes him cute. He's aDORKable!!!
He is singing I Guess That's Why They Call it The Blues. I like his personality so I hope he can sing. By the way, he is not wearing overalls.. just looked like it when he was sitting down. OH NO! He's trying to sing this song sexy and honey you are not sexy you are aDORKable remember. AWWW he's not very good.
Paula was laughing.. said he was a showman, gave us our moneys worth but she didn't know how much money will be spent. Entertaining and fun.
Simon said fun watching you but not listening to you. Ridiculous growling. Said he was a "hamster trying to be a tiger!" now that is funny!
Randy said crazy in a buck wild sort of way and that he screamed.
Kara said at least you do you.
I think he is going to cry. They really made fun of him but it was a weird performance.

Arianna Afsar
OK she just said she didn't want to be put through just because she looked like a button. LOL! I guess there are worse things she could look like! She is singing The Winner Takes All, by ABBA.
OH MY!! She just hit a very sour note! So sour it left a bad taste in MY mouth.
Simon said absolutely terrible, huge mistake, song too big for you.
Randy said not the song he would have ever chosen and that it was not good.
Kara said dark, depressing, not who she was. Told her to be young and touch people. Too serious
Paula said some bright moments, song a little old fashioned.


Ju'Not Joyner (pronounced Jew Know):
Ju Not if he can sing or not but here we go. hee hee!
He is singing Hey There Delila.
He singing it slow and sexy. I really like how he changed it up. I kind of like him, Ju Not. Sorry I'll stop now.
Randy said really cool what you just did.
Kara said really fluid but felt like he was holding back.
Paula said great about the performance, you changed it up.
Simon said better then I thought it would be.
I liked him but what do I know.. or Ju Not. LOL hee hee......

Kristen McNamara
OK she is like very like fake ya'll... DRAMA QUEEN
She is singing Give Me One Good Reason. Yep give me a reason to even want to listen to you....I think she is making out with the microphone but other then that she sounds pretty good.
Kara said great singer, not the perfect song.
Paula said great vocals
Simon said good voice, but he is puzzled about her.
Randy said not sure who she is. Karaoke thing.

Nathaniel Marshall
OK he is the headband Drama King or Queen may be more appropriate. I did not like him in Hollywood he cried too much but lets see what he brings to the table. He is singing, I would Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf. I love this song.. don't ruin it for me. OHH.. he looks girly singing it but he sounds pretty good.... and now he turned it into a show tune I bet he will do Jazz hands!
Simon said "I think you probably would" Some people will like that but the majority verging on excruciating. Awful Olivia Newton John headband.
Randy said he can sing but hard to imagine what kind of record he would make.
Kara said you've got a voice, need to show a more serious side.
Paula said she loves him. She did say this was the Boy George version of this song!!! lol

Felicia Barton
OK she was brought back after another contestant got disqualified so I don't really remember her. She is singing No One by Alicia Keys. I like her.. she is edgy. She has a good sound about her. She is my fave of the night.
Paula said "Isn't it funny how the Universe works". Talent and gift is unbelievable
Simon said first part better then the second half..bit copy cat.
Randy said happy she is back. Little different tone. Thought it was HOT.
Kara said best look, attitude presence. She noticed her for the first time. Just letting it out.

Scott MacIntyre:
I really like him in the audition and I have been waiting to see him. I hope he blows our socks off...even though I have none on. He is singing Mandalin Rain by Bruce Hornsby. I really like him. He made my heart skip a beat.
Randy said it wasn't the most perfect, but the parts were great were really really great. He can feel the passion.
Kara said you move mountains, does what he loves, passionate and makes no excuses
Paula said whatever challenges you face happy and proud you made it, blessed us with your gift one of the finest
Simon was not crazy about the song. said he was growing on him. He said he will be the only one he will remember.

Kendall Beard
Martina McBride song This Ones for the Girls
She's a country bumpkin...sounds like every other country female singer. Nothing that blows my dress up.
Kara said big personality, had some issues, flat stuff going on.
Paula said she took the prize on best outfit. Parents must be so proud. thinks she did a good job
Simon thinks she did the right thing, cute, country. Halfway through he could not wait for it to end.
Randy said song choice was good, outfit amazing, wasn't just the best vocal performance.

Jorge Nunez
Come on Jorge its getting late and I'm sleepy so show me what you got. He is singing Don't Let the Sun go Down on Me by Elton John. He sings with a accent so it makes it weird for me. He has really funny eyebrows! I'm distracted. He's doing pretty good though.
Paula said she was so proud of him. He worked hard. sounded so good. he is fulfilling a dream and she just wants to squeeze him.
Simon said it was wrong to say he shouldn't sing with a accent. Be who you are. very good singer. Sound a bit different.
Randy says vocals matter, not perfect but really really good dude!
Kara said he was born to sing, gift, he's a singer. It comes from the heart and she feels it. Has a gift of touching people.
OH he is crying about how amazing it is to be there. Very Sweet. He will get a wild card if he doesn't make it through by votes.

Lil Rounds
My eyes are starting to close right now so lets hope the song is upbeat and fun.
She is singing, Too Strong for Too Long. She's good... kind of sounds too much like the original artist.
Simon said she was his favorite performance by a mile.. he said the same as I about too much like the original.
Randy said best this season hands down.
Kara said Powerhouse
Paula said first class, sneaking suspicion that she will be around for many more Lil Rounds.. LOL how CHEESY JU KNOW.. hee hee

Tonight was pretty good. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the three making it to the final 12 is Scott, Lil Rounds and Ju'Not. I'll be watching tonight to find out!!!
